DT Max T1

  1. Version highlights

    1. Client suggestions implemented in version 22.20

      1. Implementation of federal form RC65

Starting with tax year 2018, you can now generate this form using the keyword RC65 to inform the CRA of a change in your clients' marital status. This form must then be signed and mailed to the appropriate tax center.

    2. Revised T1229 - Statement of Resource Expenses and Depletion Allowance

A section entitled "Accelerated Investment Incentive" has been added to Part II of form T1229, following the introduction by the federal government of this incentive that applies to eligible Canadian exploration expenses (CEE) and Canadian oil and gas property expenses (COGPE). Eligible expenses incurred after November 20, 2018, will qualify for an accelerated allowance for the first year.

    3. Electronic submission of Quebec attachments with the TP1 amended return

The Quebec ReFILE Attachment feature is new for the 2018 taxation year.

When submitting a Quebec amended return, DT Max will initially submit it and any attachments (entered through the keyword Que-ReFILE-File ) automatically.

The Quebec ReFILE attachment service is to be used only when stand-alone attachments must be electronically submitted. It allows you to submit attachments (through the keyword group Que-ReFILE-OthAtt ) without retransmitting the amended Quebec return.

This service is only available after having transmitted the amended Quebec return. It will no longer accept attachments once the notice of assessment, for that amended return, has been issued.

To use the web service you must:

      • Remove any previously submitted attachments,

      • Complete the keyword group Que-ReFILE-OthAtt , and

      • Modify Efile acknowledgement - Quebec attachment (if applicable), in the Progress keyword, to Efile acknowledgement - Quebec attachment (Historical).

The attachment must have one of the following extensions: pdf, jpg, jpeg, tiff, tif, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, rtf, txt, and xps.

A maximum of 25 attachments or 150 megabytes can be submitted. Each attachment, within a taxpayer's file, must also have a unique file name.

From the Efile menu, clicking Quebec ReFILE Attachment and OK will transmit the Quebec attachment.

After you click OK, DT Max will automatically submit each attachment separately. The files will be processed in real time, meaning that the response will be almost instantaneous. The results can be viewed from the Results log or from within the client's file.

Please note that if the submission is accepted, DT Max will write the result into the Progress keyword group. If it is rejected, the error code will be written into the E-AttachQueErr keyword.

The processing status can also be maintained separately within the Client list under the column Processing status - Other. To enable this status, from the DT Max Client list, simply select Client list settings found underneath Preferences.
